In a world that often overlooks the underserved, the "This is Us" Foundation, fully funded by Powered by Women, continues to stand as a testament to what’s possible when compassion meets action.

"Free eye screenings were offered to all — many experiencing their first checkup ever.

Most recently, in the heart of Kandy, we carried out one of our most impactful outreach initiatives to date. With the help of our on-ground partners and dedicated volunteers, we provided 150+ individuals with free spectacles — and conducted countless more free eye checkups for members of the community. For many, it was their first time ever receiving an eye screening.

What followed was more than just medical care.

It was a moment of clarity — quite literally — for children who can now read their blackboards without squinting, for elderly grandmothers who can now sew without straining, and for parents who can now go about their daily work with confidence.

More Than Sight — A Vision for Dignity and Opportunity.

At Powered by Women, we believe that access to vision care is not a privilege — it’s a right. Often overlooked, poor eyesight silently limits people’s ability to learn, earn, and live fully. This simple intervention — a basic pair of glasses — is sometimes all it takes to unlock dignity, mobility, and independence.

For the people we met in Kandy, the gratitude was palpable. From quiet tears to bright smiles, each moment reaffirmed our belief: when women come together to fund, lead, and serve, real transformation happens.

This Kandy outreach is just one of many community initiatives led by the "This is Us" Foundation, each fully funded by Powered by Women. Across different parts of the country, we continue to support programs that uplift marginalized communities — from health to education, from wellness to empowerment.

Whether it’s providing vision care in Kandy, vocational training for single mothers, or mental health support for teens — we are actively building a future that’s inclusive, compassionate, and community-driven.
